SNMP

Simple Network Management Protocol

protocolseasy

SNMP lets administrators monitor and configure network devices such as routers, switches, and printers. Older versions (v1 and v2c) rely on plaintext community strings that are easy to sniff or guess, making them a classic audit finding. SNMPv3 adds authentication and encryption and is the version security standards require.
