ECDSA

Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm

cryptomedium

ECDSA is the elliptic curve version of the Digital Signature Algorithm. It produces compact digital signatures used in TLS certificates, code signing, and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Its security depends critically on using a unique random nonce for every signature; nonce reuse leaks the private key.
