A wireless access point bridges Wi-Fi devices onto a wired network, and enterprises deploy fleets of them managed by central controllers. Each access point is part of the network perimeter, since radio signals extend beyond walls. Misconfigured or rogue access points are a classic way attackers get a foothold inside a building's network.
