SSE is the security half of SASE, bundling cloud-delivered protections like secure web gateway, CASB, and zero trust network access without the networking components. Organizations often adopt SSE first when they want to secure user access to the web and cloud apps but keep their existing network setup. It reflects the shift of the security perimeter from the office to the cloud.
