Digital Signature Algorithm
DSA is a public-key signature algorithm standardized by NIST in the 1990s as part of the Digital Signature Standard. It was widely used in SSH and older PKI deployments. NIST FIPS 186-5 disallows classic finite-field DSA for generating new signatures, so modern systems use ECDSA, EdDSA, or RSA instead.
