DNS

Domain Name System

protocolseasy

DNS translates human-readable domain names into IP addresses, making it foundational to nearly all internet activity. Because it was designed without security, it is a frequent target for spoofing, cache poisoning, hijacking, and tunneling for data exfiltration. Protections such as DNSSEC, DNS over TLS, and DNS over HTTPS address different parts of that gap.
