California Privacy Rights Act
The 2020 ballot measure that amended and strengthened the CCPA, adding rights to correct data and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. It also created the California Privacy Protection Agency, the first US agency dedicated solely to privacy enforcement. Most of its provisions took effect in 2023 and it now defines the current California privacy regime.
